Inspire 3 uses an all-new design that supports 360° Pan and Tilt Boost structures. When the landing gear is lowered, the gimbal supports obstruction-free 80° upward-angle shooting, enabling cinematographers to capture strikingly innovative shots.
Centimeter-Level RTK Positioning
The DJI Inspire 3 drone incorporates advanced RTK positioning technology that is commonly used in industries such as architecture and surveying to provide highly precise measurements at the centimeter level. This technology surpasses the traditional meter-level positioning offered by Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), resulting in more stable flight and increased accuracy in flight-route planning. The drone’s airframe features RTK antennas with a new stacked ceramic design, which allows for three types of GNSS (GPS, BeiDou, and Galileo) and dual-frequency positioning with centimeter-level accuracy.
Users can achieve this level of precision by either activating an RTK network or using a D-RTK 2 Mobile Station, without the need for any additional modules. The utilization of RTK technology significantly improves creative efficiency.
Waypoint Pro is a specialized tool created specifically for aerial cinematography. It allows for the planning of flight-routes and shots with various personalized options. The newly introduced Repeatable Routes and 3D Dolly modes make it possible to achieve an automated shooting experience that is innovative and simple to use. Furthermore, RTK technology ensures highly precise flight-route planning and execution. Waypoint Pro can be utilized by both solo shooters and professional crews to master even the most intricate of scenes.
By utilizing Repeatable Routes, the aircraft will fly on the same path automatically while keeping all the pre-set parameters, such as altitude, speed, gimbal angle, and camera settings. With this feature, cinematographers can easily perform challenging one-take shots or fly at various times in the same location to create long-duration timelapses that showcase transitions such as day to night or changes in seasons. This makes the process effortless and seamless.
3D Dolly can simulate a crane, cablecam, or dolly on film sets while going far beyond the limitations of those devices.
Spotlight Pro further enables solo creators with more shot possibilities. Based on powerful machine-learning algorithms, Inspire 3 supports automated subject recognition and locking for people, vehicles, and boats with greater accuracy than its predecessor.
Omnidirectional Sensing System
The Inspire 3 is equipped with nine sensors that create a robust omnidirectional sensing system capable of detecting obstacles in all directions, providing complete protection during flight. Notably, a fisheye camera has been included in each of the four landing arms, marking the first time this design has been implemented. This design ensures the avoidance of obstruction from the airframe when the landing gear is raised, and enables horizontal obstacle sensing when the landing gear is lowered.
